That's only if you can pull it Woogaus only if you can pull it. according to my calculation if 55Hp gets you to 120MPH then you only need 508.75Hp @ 5k to pull that 365 MPH

Hmmm, according to GearCalc, at 5000 rpm you would be doing 141.5 mph in first gear and 365 mph in fifth gear. LOL

I was curious about the two "reductions" myself. The only thing I could think of that could be secondary reduction was the reduction between tranny output and final drive (sprocket shaft). They may have foregone this in the later specifications and combined the two. According to what specs I could find the 5th gear ratio did not change for both primary reduction specs and primary/secondary combo specs.

You aren't going to get both....... one way will give you a hole shot but have high rpm's on the highway the other will be a dog off the line but can cruise at 100 mph on the expressway. In your case I would go in the middle with a 18-48

Lower number of teeth on the rear sprocket lowers the numerical final drive ratio = lower RPM at cruise, slower off line.

Lower number of teeth on the front sprocket raises the numerical final drive ration = higher RPM at cruise, quicker off line.

At least, that's how it was explained to me

Examples:
17-48 = 2.82
16-48 = 3.00

17-45 = 2.64
16-45 = 2.81

17-43 = 2.52
16-43 = 2.68

some one explain to me how gearing works. if , lets say im running 18-48 sprockets at 70mph, then im running (?) rpm. ok now. if im running.....18-45 sprockets at 70 mph, then im running at(?) rpm. arent my rpm's gonna be higher at 70 mph with the smaller sprockets? and ill have a quicker hole shot? basically its time for new chain and sprockets and i want to still have a good hole shot and be able to cruise at 70-80mph, still have balls on the throttle and not be running real high on the...

I got the code last night, and it was my name and a four digit number.

That's a cool program. Based on the gear ratio info I was able to pull up and my rear tire circumference, I should be turning 3935 revs at 65 miles per hour.

I was playing around with it and it's pretty amazing what a one or two tooth difference in the front or rear sprocket can make.
