wire for the tail light, and the headlight, and run them to the battery ground.

And yeah, a points bike will run way further with a marginal battery. I've

Are you running a 1pc reg/rec?

Mine got flaky, and the chop would run, but if I hit the brakes, making the brake light come on, it would stop running. It sucks when you are about 2 miles from your house and you cant use your brakes. The original points setup can work just fine for all of us .. It does require some mainteenance and doesn't offer the output of the EIs .. When I build a bike for someone .. I generally stick to the points setup to begin with because its usually a price issue with many to change over .. everyone has said the coils are a great inprovement......not sure about the wires.

there have been some quality issues with the DynaS in the last year or so......there's been at least 3 people here that have had one die on them.........others here have had the same unit for 20+ years.
