yep, it was in an issue of the Horse a couple of years ago, he was at the Smoke Out and they saw it there. Not really my style either, but like you I can appreciate the work, because we did a lot to get it on the road.

Ya like squeaky clean, then check out this one owned by a friend of mine, this pic was took about three years after he built it, he rides it all the time it's no trailer queen. Yes, it's a Harley, but we can ignore that and just appreciate the engineering in the bike. LOL

All the CT 70 stuff is only going to work for 7/8" bars.

If you're using 1" bars buy a decent assembly.

I bought mine from Cycle One, can't remember how much. If I quote to low Red will shoot me so I'm guessing between 150-200.

oh yeah, Gratefuldog runs one of the trail bike throtles on his CB650 send him a note to see how he likes it. He rides his bike on his daily commute so it gets lots of use.

rigid I bought one of the cheap knock off ones on ebay and it needed some work to make it functional. The caliber of the finish work on this thing was shitty. Lucky for me ametth has a mill so cleaning up the throttle was easy to do but it still lacks some smoothness so If i was to do it again I would but one of the good ones for around $200. I love the look though my bar are squeaky clean.

What Gougeeye said - I have two 1973 Honda CT70s and they came stock with the internal throttle. You can get the Honda CT70 throttles here. I have never tried to run them on the bigger bikes but they should work

Thats cool to know gouge eye, thanks. Now when the cookie cutter chopper guys are bragging about their internal throttles, I can slam them with "Shit man, Honda invented that back in the 70's for trail bikes". That will get their goat.

damnit.... yall dont buy all these throttles up..... Ive been searchin for a replacement for my "other sohc" bike.... and it took a few to find it..... but heres how they work.... hope this helps....

the internal throttle has a bobbin in it, the end of the cable goes through the bobbin and has one or two set screws tightened down on it to hold it in place.

When I said cut the end off, I'm talking the little furl thingy on the end then soldered the cable.
The internal throttle only allows the cable, not the furl thingy on the end like a stock honda.

My sohc has a internal Throttle on it from the factory.... ok.... its not a 750, its a CD175.... but... it is 7/8 bars... Gonna get ahold of these guys to see what other years/bikes had this setup..... not alot of folks know that the 175s, 160s, and I beleive the CT70s and 90s used these throttles.......

heavy duty stainless steel derailur cable made for mountain bikes, silver solder the end on it for the carbs. The stuff is made to be abused and tortured.

I'm using an internal throttle with Cycle X carbs and cable.
I cut the piece off the end so it would fit into the throttle assembly.
Also I grinded the threaded fitting down smaller and smooth to fit inside an adapter off a yamaha MX 80.
Works well.
